Unrivalled model and first eminent example of “romantic” ballet , Giselle is inspired by an ancient Slavic legend, the Wilis, described by Heinrich Heine in De l’Allemagne (1835). The ballet narrates the impossible love story among the young peasant Giselle and Prince Albrecht. A love so strong to triumph over the vengeful spirit of Wilis.

The Première is dedicated to the memory of Elisabetta Terabust
